Some forums I've been on have found use for a reading swap thread as sometimes the forum gives that much liked sense of detachment from a situation and sometimes it just that the persons responding share an understanding of the question. How it works is pretty straight forward, the querent poses a straight forward question while another engages a reading in response to offer some other words.

Naturally its expected that everyone engage an appropriate level of common sense in financial, legal and health matters by consulting professionals and making informed decisions. Also there should be as little naming of names as possible, should simply be about situations.

Could be open on the tool side as well if people felt comfortable? Tarot cards, oracle decks, runes, Ogham, castings, skrying, geomancy, I Ching, astrology, etc.?

I would be interested Anhainn, if anyone would like me to cast the Runes for them. The framing of the question should be about themes, trends, modes, and general matters at first, then we can work to the more specific.
I'm no master vitki, but I would do my best.

I also agree. With tarot reading. This could be challenging.

Could I be the first one to ask a question ?

Well, I've just found a new job that seems to be the ideal job for me. I begin on the 1st april. To what do I have to pay attention ?

Thanks to the ones who'll answer

Relating to my thread about the man with green hair and fish, you'll probably smile : in French, April fools is said "poisson d'avril", which means "april fish". I hope that it will not be a joke, indeed.

Ok here we go...The Staves were Uruz, Raidho (r), and Ehwaz.
What I see is that this new job is going to be good for you.  It has exciting possibilities.  You are going to be required to be creative and this may be the beginning of a new chapter of your life, or an end to an old one.
Be attentive to your friends and your partner(s), because this is a possible time for strife - your keeping a good sense of humor about things will be your best defense.  There could be some re-reouted opportunities coming.  Watch for these too, because in this job there could be some major disruption, which isn't neccessarily bad!
Obviously, this is a big improvement in jobs for you.  What is called for is harmony, with the people you encounter in this job, teamwork with them that is selfless (maybe just in the beginning, but it wouldn't kill you to stay helpful 100% there all the time)
Best of all, this job is right for you; it's a big change for the better and you should be happy with it for some time.  Oh, and there's a small possibility you may have to travel a bit for it, but I'm not sure...
I hope that's what you were looking for, I've never done a Runecast for anyone online before.

OK...so I rarely do a reading from my Wisdom of Avalon deck for other people, and I especially never thought I would do it online...but I just kept feeling the "nudge" to do so. So here ya go. I was going to do a one card draw since you just asked for what to pay attention to, but three cards came flying out (almost literally) so I'll give you all three.

Card 1 (the one I actually drew) was The Swan. Normally, the Swan indicates a need to trust your intuition and psychic gifts during times of great change...esp when the change is one that affects your life in dramatic ways. One great thing about The Swan is that she always indicates that the change will be for the better.

Card 2 was The Cow. This one seems kind of obvious to the situation. The Cow teaches us that there is abundant blessing in the universe just waiting to be asked for. If you askk you will receive! (Maybe this card came up bc of how you got the job? Or maybe it's advice for a later time concerning your job since you asked what to pay attn to?)

Card 3 was The Goblin. The Goblin is a warning of the "wounded human ego". He tends to try to throw things like "fear, anger, resentment, self-righteousness, arrogance, selfishness, greed etc" in the way of your success. Before you proceed, make sure that your motives are pure or things will get royaly "effed" up.

I'll add one more thing. NORMALLY, a three card reading would be a Past/Present/Future reading and that would seem to make sense applied to these results, but since it wasn't my intent to do that originally, I'm not sure if that is the case here or if they are just three very applicable cards! haha

(Like I said, I don't normally do readings for other people, so hopefully that all ties together for you!)

At any rate...congrats again. Much love and peace!

Thank you very much to both of you. I thank you as much as I know this is the first on-line reading for you.

Joey : There are other opportunities that are open, true. I don't think they will offer me something better (unless my new collegues reveal themselves to be unliveable). What may occur is : in 5 years, I know my companion's professional situation will change. And I imagine we could then think of beginning some business together. Moreover, a part of the job can go to an end in 20 months because it depends on public founds. But no matter. If I kept the other part (and I would), I would start some new business on the other side.

Wanderingseeker : I think it's normal there were three cards instead of one. Juste because the three informations are interesting and relevant to me

Thank you very much again. Have a very nice day

If anyone is willing to scry the aether for me...
My query is this: a rather fetching young man has expressed a desire to meet me for a roll in the probervial hay.  I have remained celibate since I took up the sobriety quest...for a variety of reasons, not worth going into here...  This young man is known to partake in a number of chemical substances. While I am not worried about my sobriety, I am wondering if it would be advisable to break my fast with him.  I am mulling this over and wonder what the Tarot, (or whatever means you use) has to say on the matter.

ok I'll bite first this time... I use the Dragon Tarot. but also interpret with the rider waite info... ok three card spread.

ok six of cups, ten of cups inverse, and seven of coins

the six of cups in the past, the card has the image of a viking ship with dragon on the prow.
- essentially I read this one to indicate your current reflecting on situations and lessons of the past. Wondering if you yourself have grown enough to face the current events. (well you have)

inverse ten of cups in the present, card beres the image of two dragons wrapped in eachother's embrace, their bodies are a star field.
- Inverse this indicates dissappointments in others, and deep emotional rifts, potentially comming to violence.

seven of coins in the future, image is a green dragon standing guard on a bridge.
- Indicates you should maintain your resolve, and avoid the upset.

So as far as I can see, this interaaction would be fiery... But this is not the passion you are looking for. From the way these cards fell I would sermise that the issue is not yours, it likely would come from this induvidual's own immaturity.

Anyone else to weigh in with their oracle's for any confirmations?

Here is my reading :

What could you expect from this relationship ? The devil. Well, I fear this cannot go further than some passion relationship. And, as the devil is related to the addictions, I would say : there is some kind of danger, indeed. The subject could come out.

The path to avoid ; the Moon. You could be inclined to act as a father to him, to try to help him and share your own experience of "the shadow", "the night". However, I don't think this the best way to act as he wouldn't be as open as you could hope. He wouldn't listen to you.

The path to follow : the Strength : Keep close to your convictions and way of life.

I did a Rune throw myself on the subject, but as doing one's own oracle can be somewhat lopsided, I really was hoping to hear what you all had to say.  First, thank you DN, and thank you faune!
Your divination meets closely with my 'cast as well as my intuition.  Mr. NeckTattoo will not be the one with whom I break my streak of celibacy.  I feel like crying  but instead I will cook Sausage, Peppers and Onions in Red Sauce and then bake it all with Ziti and Mozzerella for my amigos...
Thanks again!  And I hope we can continue the Reading Swap!

Ok my turn guys if you have some time... Well I did a reading for myself a few days back, just to check on the direction things are going, (won't share the actual cards) it was all cups, and seemed to indicate a man entering my lfe in a romantic way. I took a ritual bath to futher connect with water, and seek more info, and did so in the presance of my statue of Danu (anchient celtic water goddess, and mother of the Tuatha De Danaan) that I got for my birthday. I had previously asked her to enter my life and help me find balance in this element (which is not my strong element)... Well the bath was uneventful as far as actual information is concerned, though I do now know what pure joyful contentment feels like (and no not from that, different feeling all together).
Ok I should keep this shorter, the actual question is concerning the fact that there are actually 3 possably 4 men that are possabilities (careful with the follow me boy oil) and I need some more information about their intents, and hopefully, which one is right for me at this time in my life. If someone could get some info on the presonality traits of the one I should focus on, it would help a lot... Trying to avoid moving forward too fast with any relationships only to end up having to break some hearts and if I could pass the others along I would
 Thank you in advance boys...

Aw man! I had this whole big nice post typed up, and then my computer decided to log off the internet! boo! Ok...here's what I had before.

I read TWICE for you dearest Night; once for your question of the traits of the one you should focus on. The "Risk" card presented itself which advises you to go with your gut instinct and let the chips fall where they may. I thought this was interesting considering there are MANY cards in The Wisdom of Avalon deck which deal with personality traits. Secondly, after a good shuffle and a rephrasal, I asked which personality traits of your boys would be the LEAST suitable. Guess which card came up? You guessed it Risk! This is a Sacred Journey Marker and they sort of provide a little guidance on the road, so my advice would be to heed their twice given recommendation. Maybe your instinct will lead you to the man of your dreams! (Of course, it could just lead you into a growing experience.,..but either way. you come out ahead!)

First Danu is the vocalised or utterance of Anu the Mother Goddess and is typically associated with fertility and the land. I think any sea references may come from mistaken interpretations of what the difference between Anu and Danu is. Anu is the unknown aspect of the Goddess because she existed before speech in the land. Then the people came and you have voice and word and it becomes Danu or the voice of Anu. In a sense Anu is the Unconscious mind while Danu is the Conscious Mind. For a strong water aspect goddess in Ireland might I suggest Sinann, daughter to Mananann MacLir and grand-daught to Lir of the Sea. She's also the goddess of the River Shannon, the longest river in Ireland. Or possibly, Boann, consort and wife to An Dagda. Both Boann and Sinann have similar stories in they attempted to eat the sacred hazels which the Bradan Feasa feasted on to make them wise, ignoring protocols (moreso in Sinann's case) the waters of Connla and Segais wells (respectfully) rose up and drowned them so they became the Shannon and the Boyne.

Hey Night, I kept the reading very basic in looking at the personality traits to watch out for.

Unsurprisingly, 4 of Cups arises indicating a focus on what is present but an inner stirring to what the Universe is providing. Possibly a case not not seeing the wood through the trees. The matter is in hand of the Goddess and God now so perhaps trying to not force the situation is in order.

Air: Indicating mental and intellectual aspects of the person the Universe is indicating and its the 8 of Pentacles. This person is a worker and likes the pragmatic and practical side of things. Possibly very left-minded in appearance but as with all Pentacles they are grounded in earthly qualities. Watch what they do more than what they say.

Fire: Indicating passion and drive within a relationship. Here we have the Devil card and as we all know a great omen for relationships of a long term nature. Once again developing trust in yourself and your partner is a must here. Be cautious not to rely too much on rational thought here sometimes we get distracted by glimmering light but there is someone who's waiting for an indication for you.

Water: Indicating the subconscious. This might go some way towards explaining why the ritual bath proved "uneventful". It wasn't uneventful it was alchemical in nature. Here I have Temperance and this is the card of the Higher Self and personal change. There is a completion of the elements here. Perhaps a case of opposites attracting and changing life factors. For some reason when Temperance comes a calling in a reading I have found that the querent's life usually finds a new flow.

Earth: Formation and foundations, here we have the 2 of Pentacles. 2 generally represent a new balance and with Pentacles we have growth and creation happening.

If pushed to ask what more traits to look out for maybe someone who's personality matches or complements those traits typically associated with Capricorn (The Devil card in Passion and Feeling).

Thanks Ab actually the 4 of cups was the 2nd card in the spread I threw that started this... (referancing present condition) a lot that came up, seems more to do with the shifting nature of my own environment/personal development. What with being in the beginning of satern return this is not surprising. And that devil card under fire (the passion and drive) good insight on that, but it's only half the picture *smirks and giggles to self*.

So I'm looking for a down to earth fellow thats a hard worker. Don't try to rationalize events but trust in them and our ability to face them. Things are drawing themselves together in a more focused and balanced format, especially applicable to the emotional and subconcious state. As the surrounding fondations of my life are shifting into alignment with this new balance. But above all else just sit back, enjoy the ride, and keep my eyes open.

Thanks again Ab the reading is helpful, if anyone has time to add to this say with runes or another tarot deck, for the sake of cross-corralation and confirmation, I welcome it.

On the note of danu: all the referances I've come across she's listed as being more water associated, and the statue of her depicts her carrying a large offering bowl with handles, and water cascading (overflowing) form either side. The surface of the water in the bolw is marked with the tripple spiral. And she is walking across the surface of a pond covered in lillies (walking on water). There are several animals depicted around her, Snake seiming in the water, a frog (left) and a salmon (right) to either side of an oak tree (with acorns) on her back, and dragon fly (one of my personal totems) above the tree flying up to the tripple moon just under her shoulders. When I get a chance I'll take a few pictures of it.

Delighted it has gone some measure towards casting an eye of illumination over the situation. Would love to know what the sniggering was all about...?

Hmm triple spirals, triple moons and snakes in Ireland? Yeah none of them existed in Ireland ever. We know St Patrick's Day is a nice piece of propaganda because Irish soil could never support snakes so there is no evidence of snakes in Ireland. As for triple spirals they look pretty and all that but can't be found on historical evidence.

Please don't get me wrong if the statue has personal resonance for you then by all means it should make a wonderful channel but Danú was not physical water. Now a quick google tells me that there is evidence that the name Danu features in Hindu mythology as a water goddess and mother of a race of Asuras called the Danavas, may indicate a very ancient Proto-Indo-European origin for this figure. (Wikipedia)

Judging by the etymology of the word would suggest fluvial waters but to be honest I question the work of the Wikipedia entry because in Old Irish prior to the Latinization of the Ogam script we have this intake and exhale of characters happening and so I can understand modern commentators linking "fluvial waters" as an abstract concept to mean a literal one. Personally I don't think the Irish Danú is related to water but the spoken words of Anú the spirit of the world.

"Right for you at this time in your life", hm? It's a bit broad but I'll run with it. I'm using the World Spirit Tarot, my usual deck. And as usually I'm doing an impromptu spread, a couple card for the right fella and then the wrong fella. Hopefully they will evocative enough for you to tell which is which.

The right fella:

Ten of Cups. Three adults dance joyously on a path in front of their home. A smal child and a dog join in. Autumn leaves blow in the air and an arc of 10 cups spans the sky overhead. The adults are a man with a mustache and a striped shirt or coat; a black woman with a belly shirt and a gypsy or Indian woman in traditional dress.

The Moon: A crescent moon sends purple rays over the night, with two natural towers, or perhaps tall tree stumps, on the horizon. A river flows from between them down to a body of water, from which emerges a lobster or crayfish. A dog and a wolf face each other across the river mouth.

Seeker (Knight) of Wands. A cheeky-looking young man is lying on his back(!) on a horse, holding a rod from which gouts of fire jet upward. They are traveling through a desert canyon, with mountains (possibly a smoking volcano) in the distance and cactuses on the ground. The horse is draped in red and orange, the man in black and white cloths with a turban.

You've got a court card and a major here, but it's the court card that presents a single person. The others might be less central qualities or circumstances. Two of these cards have paired towers on the horizon, and dogs & wolves are prominent. I don't know enough to say any more.

The wrong fella:

Eight of Wands, racing through the night sky with tips ablaze. The moon shines, small and high, and a dark coniferous forest lies beneath.

Eight of Pentacles: A bald man with furry arms works on carving a pentacle as a little girl watches, along with an older, bearded man, who may be his teacher. A cat also sits on the table. A picture frame or window shows a view of middle-eastern rooftops and onion domes mixed with a western-style cathedral tower.

Ten of Wands: A man cowers below a pile of long staves that are toppling over onto him. In the distance the sun is setting over the cloudy horizon, on which we can see a house, so far away across the fields.

Two eights--usually cards of good omen--and a ten. Maybe this fellow appears to be much better than he is. That fiery dynamism and practical work ethic could be covering a sense of being overwhelmed, or maybe he's already taken on too much and it's about to crash down on him? There's one cat here in contrast to the dogs & wolves of the right fella.

Well that cinched it, the ten of cups does often associate with Contentment... But oddly enough it was the imagery 2 sets or twin towers... I live in Calgary we have a set of twin towers, bankers hall.

Well one of the people i've been talking to a lot... happens to live in new york, and while it no longer has said towers, he is the only one that is a fire sign.

I also know clearly who is indicated under the "wrong fella" section... and yea, that's been called to an end already, before it even statred. And so happens to fall under Ab's reading's advise to ppay attention to their actions not their words.

Sing of Hephaestus famed for inventions. With bright-eyed Athene he taught men glorious crafts throughout the world, Men who before used to dwell caves in the mountains like wild beasts. But now that they have learned crafts through Hephaestus the famed worker, Easily they live a peaceful life in their own houses the whole year round.
