I wanted to start a thread on using one of the new features I'm completely infatuated with, the Wiki. Since its completely new to me I thought might be the same for a few members as well.

The Helix is now home to GWN's own Wiki formatted page. It's unique to us as both John and Satyr have been working extremely hard to update the website. It hosts informative material for people wishing to learn and grow.

When you hover your cursor over The Helix tab above you will see a drop down selection for Wiki, click into it and the page will redirect to a page with a menu selection on the left-hand side. At present you will need to select Index (Show).

At which point another list of submissions will display. At the moment these are very basic but it is our hope that over time through members' contributions we can add to the wealth of information. There is currently a function for people to Rate the entry and post feedback comments. We hope that people will feel comfortable enough to share.

Currently only the Moderation Team have editorial powers over the submissions, this is just until everyone becomes accustomed to the new features.

Anyway take a look and if you have questions or comments I'll be cowering away! Just messing, but I'm sure someone on the Moderation Team will try and respond ASAP in any event.

Hey guys, took the plunge and added a few bits to the Altar page on the WikiHomePage. People want to rate the page they can do and let me know what they think by adding comments below.

Also I'm going to do some work towards making a few more pages of medium-advanced natures, nothing thats going to blow people's minds open but maybe something to help people along their Path. What I wondered was how many people used the Hellenistic cosmology of the Four Elements on here...?

Thanks Ab, for educating me on how to view, etc. Helix! I did so tonight for the first time.
Satyr, I'd love to submit a list of Herbs and their uses if that would be helpful...?
And DN, I'd love to see some of your non-secret recipes there too...

Well... Maybe I could be convinced to share the herbal raging stamina mix...

why should I be the only one having so much fun

Sing of Hephaestus famed for inventions. With bright-eyed Athene he taught men glorious crafts throughout the world, Men who before used to dwell caves in the mountains like wild beasts. But now that they have learned crafts through Hephaestus the famed worker, Easily they live a peaceful life in their own houses the whole year round. Just updated the "Elements" section of the Wiki page for people's review.

I was wondering if people thought it worthwhile for us to amalgamate the various ritual tools into a Ritual Tools entry?

yes a single entry would reduce clutter

Erm was toying with it and was writing an A-Z of Ritual Implements and it suddenly stopped letting me edit that page?! I've had Satyr look into it to see what I must have done. What I was trying to do was to flush out the ritual tools and have them in on space then maybe start a new page on Blessing, Consecration and Purification which I'd have had three sub headings on under Of the Self, Of one's Space, Of one's Tools. Then other principles like those from the Hermeticism/Emerald Tablet that Neopaganism has adopted and I wanted some shamanic principles but would need someone more versed in these than I.

Maybe a section of Afterlife as well? I'm sure members here have lots to add to such a page entry. Thats the thing which Bugscuttle spotted that one needn't edit or re-edit a page entry but people could add to it underneath as well. Members can always rate the entry which lets the mod's know there needs to be more work on a certain entry.

It really is a valuable resource we should make use of. Thus far I've been referencing and citing from what I considered reliable Wikipedia pages but books and authors recommendations are also welcome in my books.

Is that by any chance resolved? I'll give John a call today, I need to catch up with him anyway. Can I grab a quick rundown of anything that's 'broken?'. lol
Time's really flown by this year. Crazy! Thanks for staying on top of things, sometimes I'm a lil flighty. Can I blame that on being an Aries? hah. J/k

Sort off!

I went back in after my last post above and managed to make some edition to the "a-z of ritual implements" entry but something odd happened whereby it duplicated the entry to "A-Z..." and to "A Z...". I'm going to try and delete the duplicate Athame entry now.

And Aries/Gay either or both are easily distracted by shiny things/men!

UPDATE:

I went to the Wiki page and tried to delete the "A Z of Ritual Implements" but when that happened it also deleted the content of "A-Z of Ritual Implements". I then thought perhaps I should delete this as well and start from scratch but wouldn't let me do so. It's the same for "Athame ritual dagger". Delete seems to just delete content not the page.

Hey guys created a new wiki entry called "Dedication and Initiation". Would be cool to have people rate it and make some additions.

Hey folks,

Just a little update.

As you all know we have Wiki back in The Helix. Alas I stupidly deleted a lot of the material in the process. I've since brought a few new pages back.

I'm working on others such as;

Rituals (general background and commonalities) -> Initiation & Dedication (since that disappeared), Rites of Passages, Festivals (which will be on the Wheel of the Year, Sabbats & Esbats)

while...Magic is present I plan to have sub-topics on Hermetic Principles, and The Elements.

Has anyone got any suggestions? Maybe you don't want the hassle of scripting your own (though WOULD LOVE you if you did!) but even topic ideas? If people want to review whats already present let me know what ye think.
