Merry Meet to All! I'm new here and very happy to have found this site. My name is Joey, a 45y.o. gay male Wiccan (newly Dedicated) from NW Indiana. At the moment I'm a Solitary, and I may stay such...we shall see where God and Goddess leads me. I have a huge amount to learn (as well as a lot to unlearn) about spirituality. I have started with Buckland and Conway, attended my 1st Pagan Pride Day, and am generally pretty excited about my new life. I'm a bit concerned by what some Gardnerians et. al. have to say about there not being a place in Wicca for gays, but that doesn't rrealy deter me. It just saddens me a little. I know that every Wiccan is a Priest(ess) and all that counts is our relationship to the divine and our own spiritual paths. But as i said, I have a huge amount to learn and I hope to get to know all of you and learn from you! Blessed Be! Joey

well met Joey/Bugscuttle!

always amazes me about Pagan Pride that just tries to cut out us gay pagans somehow. don't let it get you down! you have as much right and place in the pagan and magickal world as anyone else - and according to a lot of older myth and story, maybe even more! once upon a time we gay folks were the wise folk that everyone else came to for guidance - we were the priests and the shamans - we already bridged the worlds in our own lives, so we found it easier to bridge the greater worlds around us when we were called to do so.

i happen to be a lucky man that escaped the oppressive world when i fled to the San Fransisco Bay Area. holding hands with my partner at the local Pagan Pride in Berkeley did not raise an eyebrow. hanging out at Pantheacon in the LGBT suite flirting with all the other witch-boys was like coming home.

if you need to practice on your own for a while - then maybe you will get to learn some special lessons from the Goddess and God that you could not do so in a group. there is a place for us all in the Universe. glad that you found a place here as well!

Well met Joey & Blessed Samhain!

It is a sad affair that some people can't see past their own ego, or lack of understanding that not everyone practices as 'they' do. Luckily not everyone is like that and I have high hopes that those who are will come around in their own time. Welcome to the community, see you 'round!

Buaileadh Shona a Joey, Welcome and I might start by apologising for not posting a welcome sooner still finding my own feet here! x Oh I would recommend Scott Cunningham and DJ Conway as very liberating in form! The Gardnerian focus in ritual is still very much male-female but this is not a sexual matter as I have heard many a gay or even transgender Witch have found themselves well supported in Gardnerian and Alexandrian lines! I know two High Priest/esses here in Ireland and they assure me that the old focus is just that! Wicca itself inherited many a trait from other traditions and religions and have in the process of evolution altered appropriately! I'm not initated Wiccan myself but thats more due to lack of time to dedicate to a coven at present! x Brightest blessings, Abhainn

Buaileadh shona agus bríseadh shona agus buaileadh shona arís deairthair agus deirfhúir!

Hello! I'm Dathi and I live in Florida. I used to practice magic regularly many years ago. The rituals gave me much comfort and help me tune into myself. But then I moved to Florida and felt like I had to change everything about myself. I abandoned my faith for over a decade--I got rid of all my books and destroyed old spell books in this purge. I am now slowly coming back and reaquainting myself to my. I am excited about this new stage in my life--as if I am welcoming home an old friend. It is great to see there is a forum like this for LGBT Pagans to commune. Thank you!

Welcome Dathi! and glad to hear you're giving Wicca a second chance. To all of you: thanks for the warm welcome! I've had some time now to study and look around. Not just online but in my community. There are a few pagans in my recovery group (can I say AA?) and there's a grove nearby thats pretty active. Of course there's also a coven near me, but I got some uber-creepy vibes from the HP when I met him. Anyway, I'm kind of limited in time and transportation at this time, but I will keep studying and honoring the sabbats and esbats in my teeny tiny Circle as best I can until the situation changes. Brightest blessings on y'all and yours! Bugsy aka Joey
